How the online pool works

  1. Step 1

    Create the pool

Name it, pick the teams and the price per square, and choose how the pot is paid out.

  2. Step 2

    Share one link

Send it to the group chat. Each person types their name and taps the squares they want.

  3. Step 3

    Draw the numbers

When the board is full, draw random digits 0–9 for each team, or type in your own. The board locks.

  4. Step 4

    Enter the scores

After each quarter or game, type in the score. The winning square lights up for everyone.

Pick the payout that fits your game

Pay each quarter, pay halftime and the final, or keep it simple with one winner at the final whistle. For a long game day, turn on new numbers for each quarter so every square gets another shot.

Running more than one game at once? The Thanksgiving squares setup puts all three holiday games on one grid with fresh numbers for each game.

Keep it fair

Numbers are drawn only after squares are claimed, since some digits come up far more than others. See the football squares odds for which numbers win most.

FAQ

How do football squares work?

A 10 by 10 grid gives 100 squares. One team runs across the top and the other down the side. After the squares are taken, the digits 0–9 are drawn for each side. When a quarter ends, the square matching the last digit of each team’s score wins.

Can I use this for college football?

Yes. Pick “Other” for each team and type any school, or start from a ready-made rivalry page. Scoring works the same way for NFL and college games.

Can I run a weekly pool?

Make a new pool for each game. Pools stay open for 180 days, and if you sign in they’re saved to your account so you can find every week’s board in one list.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no per-grid fee and no account needed. Create the pool, share the link, and run it start to finish for free. Signing in is optional and only saves the pool to your account so you can manage it from any device.

How do I share the pool with friends?

After you create the pool you get a share link. Send it by text, group chat, or email. Anyone with the link can open the board, type their name, and tap open squares. Taken squares fill in for everyone within a few seconds.

When should the numbers be drawn?

After the squares are taken, so nobody can choose a square that already has good numbers. Draw at random with one tap, or type in numbers you pulled from a hat. Once numbers are set, players can no longer change their squares.

What if someone takes a square and never pays?

Turn on approval so new picks stay pending until you approve them, mark each square paid as money comes in, and remove names that never pay. A join code keeps out anyone who was forwarded the link.

Does this collect or pay out money?

No. Add your Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal and players get a button that opens the app with their amount filled in, so money goes straight to you. The board tracks who has paid. Check the rules where you live before playing for money.

Can I use it for a fundraiser?

Yes. Set a share of the pot for your school, team, or charity, and the board shows the cause and pays winners from the rest.
