How far back Cash App statements go
Cash App creates a monthly statement covering your Cash App balance and Cash App Card activity. It is ready within 5 business days after the end of the month.
Each statement shows your starting and ending balance, fees, transactions, direct deposit details, and your account and routing numbers. That makes it the closest thing Cash App offers to a bank statement, and it is what most landlords will ask for.
Cash App bank verification letter
Cash App has no branches and does not offer a signed bank verification letter in the app. What you can get yourself is your monthly statement, which shows your name, balances, and account and routing numbers.
If you need to show someone which bank your account and routing numbers belong to, that bank name appears in the app where you view your account and routing numbers. Ask the requester whether statements will work before you go looking for a letter. Most landlords accept them.
Cash App proof of funds letter
Without branches, proof of funds from Cash App usually means your most recent statement showing the ending balance. Some recipients also accept a bank-connected report that shows current balances.
Check what the recipient will accept before you rely on it for a large purchase. Many title companies and sellers want documents dated within the last 30 to 60 days.
Statement, letter, or income report: which to send
People asking for a Cash App bank statement usually want proof of one of three things: that the account is yours, how much is in it, or how much you earn. Send the document that answers their actual question.
| Document | Where it comes from | What it shows | How fast | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bank statement | You download it | Every transaction and the balance for one month | Minutes | Most rental applications and loan files |
| Bank verification letter | A banker prepares it | That the account exists, its open date, sometimes the balance | Same day to a few business days | Visas, some leases, employers, vendors |
| Proof of funds letter | A banker prepares it | Available balance as of a date | Same day to a few business days | Home purchases, large deposits, investors |
| Bank-connected income report | Built from a read-only bank connection | Recurring deposits, estimated monthly income, balances | About 5 minutes | Showing income without sending every transaction |
Does Cash App work with Plaid?
Yes. Cash App works with Plaid, the service most budgeting, lending, and income apps use to read bank data. In the bank list, search for Cash App by name. You do not need to pick a partner bank, even though your direct deposit details name one.
Sign in with your Cash App account details and enter the verification code Cash App sends. You can see and remove apps you have connected through Plaid at my.plaid.com.
Sending a Cash App bank statement to a landlord or lender
Send the PDF you downloaded, not screenshots, and send only the months they ask for. Two or three recent statements are typical for a rental application. Lenders often want two full months with every page, including blank ones.
A statement shows every purchase you made that month. If you would rather share a summary, you can connect your Cash App account and create an income report from your bank deposits. It shows recurring deposits and an estimated monthly income, and it comes straight from the bank, so the person reading it does not have to wonder whether a PDF was edited.
Reviewing statements from an applicant? Our bank statement checker walks through the signs of an altered statement, and you can ask applicants to connect their bank instead of uploading files.
