Suggestions apply to the planned total, including any savings categories. They do not record money transfers or separate personal spending.

Choose a fair starting point

Enter both partners’ monthly take-home incomes, then list the expenses and savings you want to share. You can split the planned total equally or in proportion to income. These are conversation starters; choose arrangements that fit your household.

For example, incomes of $3,000 and $2,000 create a 60/40 split. For $2,000 in planned shared costs, suggested contributions are $1,200 and $800. Contributions always add up to the planned total.

Keep it current each month

Save the budget to your free account and update the actual column as the month progresses. Only the owner can edit; a live sharing link lets your partner view the latest saved amounts. Use separate saved plans for different months to retain earlier budgets.

To track who has paid for individual purchases, use the bill splitter. For your savings cushion, use the emergency fund tracker.
