Carvana Income Verification: Documents & What to Expect
Carvana may verify income and employment during a vehicle purchase by requesting documents through your Carvana account. It also offers a Plaid bank connection that may help with verification, although connecting does not necessarily replace the document request.
For pay stubs, Carvana's published checklist asks for the two latest consecutive stubs, or three if year-to-date earnings are missing. Pay stubs and bank statements
For pay stubs, make sure your name, employer, pay period, and year-to-date earnings are visible. Submit the complete document, including every page. Carvana recommends PDFs and also accepts common image formats. A cropped screenshot can leave out information the reviewer needs.
Bank statements should cover the requested consecutive months. Submit the statements requested in your account rather than substituting a balance screenshot or transaction total. If the statements do not establish the required information, Carvana may request other documentation.

Self-employed, gig-based, or a business owner
Carvana's self-employment checklist lists three months of consecutive bank statements showing deposits, the two latest pay stubs, or three months of consecutive canceled checks as income evidence options. It says the newest document must be within 30 days and also requires supporting documentation.
Examples of supporting documents include the previous year's 1099, an official employment contract, or an industry license. Rental income has a specific rental-agreement and Schedule E option. Use the full self-employment checklist to match your situation.
Business owners have a separate checklist for linking the applicant to the business. If your income spans several categories, ask Carvana which checklist applies rather than assuming one deposit or tax form is sufficient.
What if you just started a new job?
Carvana's new-employment guidance requests both an official offer letter and your first pay stub. The letter should identify you and your employer, confirm the start date, and state salary or hourly pay with expected hours and employment status.
If you have not received your first pay stub, contact Carvana about your next step. An offer letter alone does not meet the combination described in its published guidance.
Does connecting through Plaid eliminate uploads?
Not necessarily. Carvana says a Plaid connection can help streamline verification but documents may still be required. Complete the steps shown in your account and check whether any request remains outstanding after connecting.
What to do when verification is still pending
Check for missing pages, requested dates, or a follow-up message. Upload the requested records to your Carvana account and ask Carvana support which item is unresolved. Do not assume another applicant's turnaround time applies to your purchase.
Keep the documents as issued. If figures differ because of a job change, deductions, or irregular income, explain the difference and provide the requested supporting records.
Can you submit an Income Checker report instead?
